Why this page exists

The Unmanned Innovation domain and name have a history that predates this publication. This disclosure is intended to prevent readers, sources, and search systems from inferring a corporate relationship that does not exist.

Earlier use of the name

A 2015 FAA exemption decision identifies its petitioner as Unmanned Innovation, Inc. doing business as Airware. A later statement by Jonathan Downey identifies Unmanned Innovation as Airware's original corporate name.

In 2018, Delair announced an agreement to acquire key Airware assets. Those former-company products, people, funding, customers, experience, acquisitions, and accomplishments belong to that historical record, not to the current publication.

The current publication

Unmanned Innovation is an independent publication owned and edited by Austin Lawson. It is not affiliated with Airware, Delair, Jonathan Downey, or the former Unmanned Innovation, Inc. Historical references to those organizations describe the domain's earlier use and do not represent the ownership, history, personnel, or accomplishments of the current publication.

The current publication is not presented as a successor, continuation, acquirer, or revival of the former company. It does not claim that Austin founded, worked for, acquired, or continued Airware, and it does not use the former company's identity or history as a present-day credential.

How historical references are handled

Historical claims are kept narrow, neutrally worded, and tied to recoverable contemporary sources. The current site's organization metadata describes only the current publication and does not reuse facts associated with the former organization.

A historical article would require its own reader purpose, source review, and prominent non-affiliation disclosure. The domain history is not used as a shortcut to claim expertise or publish former-company material.
